Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Rolls-Royce have signed a memorandum of understanding for long-term TotalCare services support for its fleet of Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines that will power its six ordered Airbus A380 aircraft.
The airline's first A380 entered into service on 1 July. Rolls-Royce already provides TotalCare services to MAS for the Trent 800 engines on its 17 Boeing 777s.
"TotalCare alleviates the burden of engine maintenance and provides significant financial savings. We look forward to receiving the same high level of support for our Trent 900 engines as we undertake this important fleet expansion," says MAS group CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya.
