Embryonic lessor Air Lease Corporation is to take the 'sharklet' modifications on several of the Airbus A321s ordered today.
Air Lease Corporation signed an agreement for 20 A321s as well as 31 A320s at the Farnborough Air Show.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, the lessor's chairman, Steve Udvar-Hazy, said that "most" of the A321s would feature the sharklets which would give the type improved take-off and range performance.
He also says the lessor would take a mix of International Aero Engines V2500s and CFM International CFM56 engines for the new fleet.
Deliveries of the A320s are to begin in January 2011 and the overall 51-aircraft order will run to 2015.
