Philippine Airlines has signed a letter of intent with Pratt & Whitney for geared turbofan engines to power Airbus A320neos.
The carrier’s 10 Neo narrowbodies will be equipped with PurePower PW1000G engines if the deal is finalised.
“As we continue to modernise our fleet, we consistently turn to Pratt & Whitney for innovative and reliable technology to power our aircraft,” says airline president Ramon Ang. “The PurePower engine will help us reduce fuel burn, improve the environmental performance and lower our cost of operations.”
CFM International’s Leap-1A engine is also available for the A320neo family.
The LOI also includes a long-term maintenance service agreement, says P&W.
