One of African budget carrier Fastjet's major investors, Lonrho, has sold its entire shareholding in the airline.
Lonrho held over 52 million shares in Fastjet, more than 11% of the company.
But Fastjet states that the investor has sold its entire share capital at a price of £0.0285 per share, which values the transaction at nearly £1.5 million.
"Consequently Lonrho no longer has an interest in the share capital of the company," says the carrier. It has not identified the buyers of the shareholding.
Fastjet primarily operates from airports in Tanzania but has been trying to extend its network to other African destinations.
