FedEx Express has placed orders for 19 new Boeing 767-300 Freighters to replace its MD-10s and Airbus A310-200s. The operator is also converting four of its Boeing 777 Freighter orders to 767s.
Two of the 777 orders will be converted in the company's 2016 financial year, ending on 31 May, and two more in FY2017. FedEx says it will receive the 19 Boeing 767s between 2015 and 2019.
FedEx operates 19 Boeing 777 freighters, with orders for 24 additional aircraft.
In June, FedEx announced that it would permanently retire its 18 Airbus A310-200 freighters and 26 engines for those aircraft types, and six Boeing MD-10-10 cargo aircraft with 17 engines.
The airline announced in December 2011 that it would receive 27 new Boeing 767s between fiscal 2014 and 2018.
