FedEx Express has launched two new services from Hong Kong to the USA and Europe.

The cargo firm is offering a direct service from Hong Kong to Memphis, Tennessee, using its Boeing 777F freighter. This gives custmers options for faster shipments to both the East and West coast of the USA, and to the Canadian, Central and South American markets, it says.

The direct service from Hong Kong to its European hub in Paris, France allows easier access to European markets like Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland, says the company

"FedEx is committed to providing customers with greater access to markets and opportunities in the USA and Europe, as businesses in Hong Kong and in the Asia Pacific region start to emerge from the global economic downturn," says David Cunningham, president Asia Pacific, FedEx Express.

"These two service enhancements will strengthen FedEx's overall network connectivity and operations, positioning the company for long term growth."

FedEx has four 777Fs serving routes between Asia and the USA. The company expects to have 15 777Fs in its fleet by the end of 2014, and has a second order for an additional 15 that will be delivered between 2014 and 2019.
