Finnair will discontinue the lease agreements on four Airbus A320 family aircraft and remove them from its fleet by autumn 2012.

The carrier said that the fleet changes will not affect personnel and are part of its plan to cut costs by €140 million ($187million) by 2014.

Finnair chief operating officer Ville Iho said: "This change will be practically unnoticeable to our customers.

"But it will help us make the best use of our narrowbody aircraft and generate sizeable savings without impacting our production or revenue."
