Malaysia Airlines' subsidiary Firefly launched two charter services to the Chinese city of Nanning on 19 April.
The carrier operates once weekly on the Kuala Lumpur-Nanning and the Kuala Lumpur-Penang-Nanning routes using Boeing 737-400 aircraft.
"Nanning is our first foray into China. We see demand for both leisure and business travel. We are also exploring the possibilities of flying to more cities in China using our 737 aircraft," says Firefly's chief executive, Ignatius Ong.
Schedules in Innovata show Firefly is the only operator on the two routes.
