Turboprop operator Firefly plans to raise the frequency of its Subang-Johor Bahru service from 28 to 38 times weekly, starting 19 February.
This is higher than the weekly frequency of 31 the carrier had earlier planned.
Starting June, the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) subsidiary will also receive 20 ATR 72-600 aircraft, ordered in late 2012 by MAS.
The turboprops will be used to increase frequencies on popular services and the airline is also monitoring potential new routes.
Firefly operates a fleet of 12 ATR 72-500 aircraft from its hubs in Subang, Kuala Lumpur's secondary airport, and Penang.
