The first electronic flight instrument system (EFIS) retrofitted to a Boeing 747 Classic is pictured showing the four high-resolution 150 x 200mm (6 x 8in) liquid-crystal displays (LCD) and new control panels, as Jet Aviation offers the kit to other 747 Classic operators. The aircraft pictured, the first fitted with the Astonautics-supplied EFIS cockpit, is understood to be a 747SP operated by the government of Saudi Arabia. The avionics and cockpit upgrade was developed by Jet Aviation and JRG Design of Greensboro, North Carolina.
