First Interjet Superjet undergoes completion in Venice

Mexican carrier Interjet's first Sukhoi Superjet 100 has arrived in Italy for completion ahead of delivery in March 2013.

The aircraft, serial number 95023, arrived at Venice on 6 October having flown from the assembly line at Komsomolsk-on-Amur, via Novosibirsk and Moscow Zhukovsky.

Interjet is taking 20 Superjets which will be configured with 93 seats. The airline is the first outside of Russia and the former Soviet states to acquire the twinjet.

Superjet International, the marketing operation for the type, says the first aircraft will be completed at its facility in Tessera. It adds that it is deveoping a supplemental type certificate covering the work.

Venice is to house a full-flight simulator to train Interjet's Superjet pilots from January next year. The simulator installation will begin in November.
