Flybe has selected FlightSafety International to supply full flight simulators for Bombardier Q400 and Embraer E-170/190 aircraft.

The simulators will be housed at Flybe's new training academy at Exeter International airport in the UK.

Installation of the Q400 simulator is scheduled for the first half of 2011. FlightSafety says it plans to supply Flybe with E-Jet training services at its facility in Amsterdam and the Paris Le Bourget airport until the new simulator is installed in 2012.

Flybe and FlightSafety have also agreed to a cooperative marketing agreement to offer aircraft operators surplus hours on the two types of simulators.

The simulators will be equipped with FlightSafety's Vital X Visual System and electronic motion and control loading technology.

Flightglobal's ACAS fleet database shows Flybe has 56 Q400s in its fleet and four on order. The carrier currently operates 14 E-195s and has 35 E-175s on firm order.
