Middle Eastern low-cost carrier FlyDubai plans to recruit 600 pilots over the next four years to serve its expanding route network and meet the needs of its growing fleet.

The airline requires 14 pilots - seven captains and seven first officers - to operate each of the 50 Boeing 737-800s ordered in 2008. The last of these aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2016.

To support the external recruitment, FlyDubai has also implemented an in-house captain upgrade scheme.

The carrier employs over 200 pilots.
