FlyDubai has taken delivery of the first Boeing Next Generation 737 equipped with carbon brakes supplied by Goodrich.

Goodrich will supply wheels and carbon brake equipment to the airline for its planned fleet of more than 50 737s and will also retrofit its existing six aircraft.

The wheels and carbon brakes provide a weight saving of around 318kg (700lb) per aircraft compared with high capacity steel brakes, and 250kg (550lb) compared with standard capacity steel brakes, says Goodrich.
