Maldivian regional carrier Flyme is shortly to take delivery of a new ATR 72-600 aircraft on lease from GECAS.
The aircraft (MSN 1069) will complement two dry-leased ATR 42-500s, built in 1999 and 2001, which are currently deployed on domestic services.
The aircraft is being prepared at ATR's facility in Toulouse and will be handed over to the Maldivian carrier next month.
Flyme was launched as Villa Air in October 2011 by Malé-based Villa Group, one of the island nation's largest private companies. Its other businesses span holiday properties, fuel importing and distribution, and tuna processing.
