Flughafen Munchen (FMG), the operator of Munich airport, has signed a co-operation agreement with Zurich airport and Brazilian construction group CCR to operate Tancredo Neves airport in Belo Horizonte.

In August, the consortium will take over responsibility for operating the Brazilian gateway under a 30-year concession.

CCR holds a 75% stake in the consortium, with the remainder split between Zurich airport and FMG. Munich airport's operator will decide in June whether to lift its current 1% share to 12.5%.

Tancredo Neves airport handled 10.2 million passengers last year, making it the fifth busiest airport in Brazil.
