GKN Aerospace has expanded its electrical wiring supply co-operation with Fokker Elmo.

The Dutch manufacturer says it has started producing electrical harnesses for the various engine nacelles made at GKN's facility in Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK. The nacelles are used on a range of commercial, military transport and business aircraft.

Fokker produced the initial harnesses at its facilities in the Netherlands. But serial production will take place at the manufacturer's facilities in China for civil programmes and Turkey for military aircraft.

The new work is in addition to a contract that sees Fokker supplying wiring for Airbus A320 wings to GKN's Filton facility near Bristol.
