Aigle Azur has appointed former Air Tahiti Nui chief Cédric Pastour as general manager.

He reports to the French airline's chairman, Arezki Idjerouidene.

Pastour's career began in 1988 when he joined Air Liberté's sales department. He founded Star Airlines - now XL Airways - in 1995, and spent a decade managing that carrier.

His one-year stint as chairman and chief executive of Polynesian operator Air Tahiti Nui began in late 2010.
