Former Flybe senior manager joins Aer Lingus

Mike Rutter has joined Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus as its chief revenue officer.

Rutter previously spent 12 years at UK regional carrier Flybe, where he served as managing director of the Flybe Outsourcing Solutions division before resigning in August 2013.

His profile on the Aer Lingus website notes that “during his time in Flybe, he introduced baggage charging and also led Flybe’s business expansion into Europe building a 28-aircraft airline headquartered in Helsinki”, namely Flybe Nordic.
