Airbus has taken delivery of the first nose fuselage structural subassemblies for the A330-200 freighter aircraft.
The nose has been constructed by the Aerolia division which includes the French manufacturing plants at Meaulte and Saint-Nazaire Ville.
Aerolia specialises in the nose sections 11 and 12 across the whole Airbus range.
It says that the the A330 freighter is "characterised" by specific nose-section parts, which include an redefined lower fuselage shell and forward section.
Aerolia adds that the aircraft represents an "excellent" opportunity for it to demonstrate its production capabilities, pointing out that process at Meaulte have had to be adapted to produce the type's lower fuselage section 15.
Airbus long-range programme head Patrick Piedrafita says the A330F's nose has been delivered "in accordance with objectives".
