Republic Airways Holdings subsidiaries Frontier and Midwest Airlines have moved their respective technologies onto one platform, allowing for the operation of a single reservations system under a single code.
Republic purchased Frontier and Midwest in 2009 and earlier this year opted to consolidate the carriers under the Frontier brand.
Today, Frontier and Midwest officially become one airline with this technology integration," says Ian Arthur, vice president of marketing and branding. "With one website, one booking engine and one kiosk interface we are back to offering our guests an easy and streamlined travel experience. We are excited to complete this major hurdle in our integration and continue building an airline that truly offers a better and different experience."
Additionally Frontier has opted to introduce stretch seating featuring five inches of legroom on its Airbus narrowbodies and 100-seat Embraer E-190s. The carrier expects to complete stretch seat configurations on its smaller E-170s by the US Thanksgiving holiday.
