Denver-based low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines will continue expanding at Cleveland, adding three new destinations from October.
The carrier will launch service to Washington Dulles and Chicago O'Hare from 1 October, followed by New York LaGuardia from 26 October. It will operate six times weekly to LaGuardia, and four times weekly to Washington and Chicago.
The new flights will bring the total number of destinations served by Frontier from Cleveland to 17.
On 13 June, Frontier began flights from Cleveland to Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham and Tampa. In August, it will launch flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, followed by Las Vegas in September.
The carrier also flies to Denver, Orlando, Seattle and Trenton, and operates international service to Cancun and Punta Cana in partnership with Apple Vacations.
“We are excited to offer three new Frontier destinations for residents of the Cleveland area,” says Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial. “We have already seen how much customers love our amazing low fares and they will find that our newly launched fare structure empowers them to optimise their travel experience for the comfort and value they seek.”
Frontier will compete against United Airlines on all three new routes from Cleveland, and against American Airlines on Cleveland-Chicago O'Hare, schedules in Innovata show. Southwest Airlines also offers non-stop service between Cleveland and Chicago Midway.
