The Israeli air force’s first Gulfstream G550 modified for electronic intelligence (ELINT) tasks will make its flight debut in the next few weeks, says Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). Delivered to Israel in mid-year, the business jet was modified for special mission applications by IAI subsidiary Elta and is undergoing equipment installation at Ben Gurion airport, Tel Aviv. Three more G550s will be delivered this year for conversion for ELINT and airborne early warning duties.
