MRO provider Guangzhou Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co (GAMECO) will set up a landing gear overhaul base in Qingyuan.

GAMECO will take up 46.7ha (115 acres) of land to build the facility and invest CNY 200 million ($31.8 million) in the project's first phase, says GAMECO. The facility will have an annual repair capacity of 150 landing gear sets for aircraft such as the Airbus A320 family, A330 and Boeing 737.

In future, it could have the capacity to maintain landing gear for widebody aircraft such as the 777, adds the MRO firm.

Qingyuan, located in Guangdong province, is 80km (49.7 miles) away from GAMECO's headquarters in Guangzhou.
