A Garuda Indonesia Boeing 737-400 collided with a tow vehicle at Jakarta Airport this morning while pushing back for a flight.

The aircraft, with 111 passengers on board, was about to depart for Pangkal Pinang at 09:10hr when the front of the airframe collided with the vehicle, says a Garuda spokesman.

Indonesia's National Transport Safety Committee is investigating the incident, he adds. He was not able to comment on the extent of the damage to the aircraft but says it has been grounded.

Passengers on the flight were moved to another aircraft, which took off more than an hour after the scheduled flight time, adds the spokesman.
