Garuda Indonesia passenger traffic up 10.8% in June

Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia's total passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 10.8% in June, compared with the same month last year.

The airline's capacity, as measured in ASKs, increased by 8.01%, while passenger numbers grew by 16.4% to 1.73 million.

Load factor for the month increased by 2.02 percentage points to 79.8%.

The carrier's domestic traffic rose by 9.87% year on year against capacity growth of 7.2%, while its load factor increased by 2.03 percentage points to 83.8%.

Garuda's international RPKs climbed by 6.81%, compared with the same month last year. Capacity rose by 3.79% while load factor grew by 2.18 percentage points to 76.9%.

The airline carried 22,200t of cargo in June, a year-on-year increase of 28.3%. Cargo load factor increased by 4.59 percentage points to 29%, the carrier said in a statement.
