Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia's total passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 20% in March, compared with the same month last year.
The airline's capacity for the month, as measured in ASKs, increased by 15%, while passenger numbers climbed by 27% to 2.05 million.
Load factor during the period rose by 3.4 percentage points to 78.7%.
The carrier's domestic traffic rose by 13% year on year against capacity growth of 10.8%, while its load factor increased by 1.4 percentage points to 79.2%. Passenger numbers grew by 15% to 1.27 million.
Garuda Indonesia's international RPKs climbed by 13%, compared with the same month last year. Its capacity rose by 4.3%, while load factor increased by 6.4 percentage points to 80.4%. The number of passengers carried increased by 12% to 344,000.
The airline carried 28,800t of cargo in March, a year-on-year rise of 22%. Its cargo load factor fell by 1.3 percentage points to 44.7%, says Garuda.
In March, Garuda Indonesia's low-cost carrier Citilink's passenger traffic and capacity more than doubled. Passenger numbers also more than doubled to 430,000, while load factor rose by 0.6 percentage points to 71.6%, adds the airline.
