Garuda Indonesia launched five new domestic services on 1 May, all of which are operated daily.
These are Medan-Surabaya, Medan-Palembang-Denpasar, Makassar-Yogyakarta, Surabaya-Ambon and Denpasar-Banyuwangi-Surabaya services, says Indonesia’s flag carrier.
For the Denpasar-Banyuwangi-Surabaya route, the carrier is using ATR 72-600 aircraft, while the remaining four routes are operated using Bombardier CRJ1000s.
FlightMaps Analytics shows that Garuda is the only operator on the Palembang-Denpasar and Denpasar-Banyuwangi-Surabaya routes. It also competes with Lion Air on the Makassar-Yogyakarta, Medan-Surabaya and Surabaya-Ambon routes.
