Garuda Indonesia’s total passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 13% in November 2013, compared to the same time a year prior.
The airline’s capacity for the month, as measured in ASKs, increased by 23%, while passenger numbers climbed by 18% to 2.2 million.
The group’s load factor however fell by 6.3 percentage points to 71.8%.
The Indonesian flag carrier’s domestic traffic rose by 14% year on year while its capacity increased by 18.2%. The 15% increase in passenger numbers to 1.43 million, however, still resulted in a 2.7 percentage point drop in load factor to 80.2%.
Garuda’s international RPKs grew by 1.5%, compared with the same month last year. Its capacity rose by 24%, while its load factor fell by 13.3 percentage points to 59.7%. The number of passengers grew by a marginal 0.1% to 285,200.
The airline carried 31,100t of cargo in November, a year-on-year increase of 22%. Its cargo load factor was down 3.3 percentage points to 44.6%.
In November, Citilink’s RPK increased by 49% while its ASKs rose by 37%, compared with the same month a year ago. Passenger numbers at the low-cost carrier also increased to 498,000, while its load factor rose by 7.4 percentage points to 87.6%.
