Garuda Indonesia’s total passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 15% in October, compared with the same month last year.
The airline’s capacity for the month, as measured in ASKs, increased by 18%, while passenger numbers climbed by 25% to 2.2 million.
The group’s load factor fell by 2.1 percentage points to 74.1%.
The Indonesian flag carrier’s domestic traffic rose by 19% year on year and its capacity increased by 18%. The 21% increase in passenger numbers to 1.42 million, however, only lead to a marginal increase in load factor to 79%.
Garuda’s international RPKs fell by 1.2%, compared with the same month last year. Its capacity rose by 14%, while its load factor fell by 10 percentage points to 66.2%. The number of passengers declined by 2.8% to 294,000.
The airline carried 29,200t of cargo in October, a year-on-year increase of 13%. Its cargo load factor was down by 6.2 percentage points to 41.6%.
In October, Citilink’s RPK increased by 79% while its ASKs rose by 36%, compared with the same month a year ago. Passenger numbers at the low-cost carrier also increased to 477,000, while its load factor rose by 20.4 percentage points to 86.4%.
