Garuda Indonesia has taken delivery of its first Bombardier CRJ1000 during a handover on 10 October.
The first aircraft will be based in Makassar, operating on domestic services in and around Sulawesi island, says the flag-carrier.
It will operate on routes such as Makassar to Ternate, Lombok, Kendari and Surabaya.
Garuda will receive two more aircraft in October, followed by one in November, and two in December, the carrier adds. The airline has 18 CRJ1000s on order, with 18 more on option.
