The reopening of Gaza International airport in the Gaza Strip is not included in the ceasefire recently agreed between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The airport was forced to close in 2000 after Israel bombed the runway in retaliation for attacks on Israeli targets. The Turkish government says it is ready to repair the facilities, subject to an approval from Israel that the airport can reopen.
