GE Aviation has acquired Texas-based Austin Digital, which specialises in providing Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA).

"The acquisition of Austin Digital brings some of the best flight operations technology to GE Aviation's Services business, further expanding our commitment to deliver results for our customers," says Paul McElhinney, GE Aviation Services president and CEO in a statement.

GE will use Austin Digital's technology for analysing flight and operational data to bolster its fuel and carbon services offering, which is designed to cut carbon emissions and fuel burn with services such as diagnostic software and engine washes. Austin Digital's tools analyse flight data to uncover safety risks.

Austin Digital employs 40 people at its facility in Austin, Texas.
