Boeing has announced that George Maffeo will succeed Boeing Japan president Mike Denton, who will retire from the company in October.

Maffeo is currently vice-president of 787 supplier management, Boeing Commercial Airplanes for Japan.

A 34-year Boeing veteran, Maffeo has also served the airframer as vice-president for supplier management of airplane programmes, responsible for 737, 747, 767 and 777 programmes. Prior to this, he led the company's propulsion organisation, which is responsible for engine management and propulsion procurement.

Maffeo held other senior procurement positions in the Puget Sound area, such as director of standards, systems and equipment, and director of customer selected equipment.
