Lufthansa has transferred its direct flights between Hamburg and Paris to low-cost subsidiary Germanwings.

Starting 7 January, the budget carrier is operating the route to Charles de Gaulle airport with up to three daily return flights, using Airbus A319s and Bombardier CRJ900s.

Germanwings is building up its presence in Germany’s second city to serve 24 routes during the winter 2013/2014 schedule. This is to increase to 45 destinations during the summer schedule, the airline says.
