Global Eagle Acquisition appoints Davis as VP and CFO

Global Eagle Acquisition has appointed Dave Davis, former chief financial officer of Northwest Airlines and US Airways and current director of Row 44, as vice-president and chief financial officer.

Davis will join the company upon closing of Global Eagle's proposed acquisition of Row 44 and 86% stake in Advanced Inflight Alliance (AIA).

Upon closing, Davis will serve as chief financial officer of Row 44, reporting to John LaValle, chief executive of Row 44.

In his role at Global Eagle, Davis will be responsible for Global Eagle's group finance functions including financial planning and analysis, controllership, tax, treasury, investor relations, and mergers and acquisitions activity.

Most recently, Davis served as senior vice-president, enterprise finance, at Best Buy in Minneapolis.

He joined US Airways in 2002 as vice-president, financial planning and analysis before being promoted to executive vice-president, finance and chief financial officer in 2004.

Later, he joined Northwest Airlines as senior vice-president, finance and controller. He served as executive vice-president, chief financial officer where he oversaw the Northwest Delta merger process.

In addition, Davis served as senior managing director of Perseus. Currently, he also serves as a board member of Lumexis Corporation, a provider of in-flight entertainment systems for commercial aircraft.
