GOL Transportes Aereos has secured a $310m aircraft pre-delivery payment (PDP) loan facility, covering 21 Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft to be delivered in 2008 and 2009.

GOL Transportes Aereos will take delivery of the first aircraft covered by the PDP facility in July 2008, with five further aircraft delivered in the same year.  The remaining 15 aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2009.

The facility, a clubbed financing that comprises a total of eight banks, was led by Calyon and Citigroup. Long-term financing will be provided by a combination of sale-leasebacks and long-term loans from financial institutions with support from the US Exim Bank.

In October 2006, GOL increased the total number of aircraft it has on order with Boeing to 121 737-800 aircraft. The group has 87 firm orders and 34 options on backlog.
