Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes' vice-president of finance, strategy and investor relations Leonardo Porciuncula Gomes Pereira is to join the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission next week as president.

The nomination, which is still pending approval by the Senate, means financial director Edmar Prado Lopes Neto will be elected at the carrier's board of directors meeting for the position of investor relations officer. Edmar Lopes joined the Brazilian low-cost carrier in 2011 as capital markets director.

Earlier this month Gol appointed Paulo Kakinoff as its new chief executive, succeeding Constantino de Oliveira Junior, who was elected as chairman of the board of directors.
