Singapore-based ground handling company SATS has appointed Alexander Charles Hungate as president and chief executive, with effect from 1 January 2014.
Hungate will succeed Tan Chuan Lye when he retires at the end of this year. Hungate will join SATS as executive director on 16 July and begin working with Lye to prepare for the transition.
Following his retirement, Lye will take up the role of executive advisor to assist Hungate with the on-going operational transformation of the business.
Hungate currently serves as group general manager and chief executive at HSBC Singapore. He has held senior management positions including HSBC group managing director of personal financial services.
In addition, Hungate has worked with Reuters as its managing director for Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong, and global chief marketing officer, based in New York.
