SAS Group regional airline Wideroe is citing growing traffic from the UK as a significant factor behind its record first-half profit.

It recorded a pre-tax profit of NKr187.2 million ($34.5 million) for the six months ending 30 June, up $23.1 million on the same period last year.

Wideroe passenger numbers from the UK have increased by 20% during the first half, contributing to a 30% revenue rise. The carrier's UK to Norway flights link Aberdeen with Stavanger and Bergen, Newcastle with Stavanger, and Edinburgh with Bergen.
