Russian lessor GTLK Europe has agreed to finance a Boeing737-700 for Kazakhstan’s SCAT.

The 2008-vintage aircraft is expected to transfer to SCAT at the end of May.

The state-owned lessor says the finance lease agreement represent its first cross-border deal.

GTLK Europe financed five new Airbus A321s last year under a purchase-and-leaseback transaction with Aeroflot.

The lessor also expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of three used narrowbodies. One 2006-vintage 737-800, on lease to Aeroflot's subsidiary Orenair, was acquired from SMBC Aviation Capital. Two 2003-vintage A321s were purchased from Middle East Airlines and were placed on lease to Russian operator Yamal Airlines.

SCAT’s fleet includes 15 Antonov An-24s, one Yakovlev Yak-42, six Bombardier CRJ200s, two 737-300s, three 737-500s and four 757-200s.
