Middle Eastern carrier Gulf Air and Gulf Aviation Academy have inked a training agreement for aircraft and ground personnel.

Even though both firms are subsidiaries of Bahrain's Mumtalakat Holding Company, they had so far not formalised any co-operation.

The contract covers training for flight and cabin crew, maintenance and other ground-based staff.

Gulf Aviation Academy is soon to add an Embraer 170/190 full-flight simulator to its simulators for Airbus A320, A330 and A340 aircraft at its campus in Bahrain, the company says.

Gulf Air introduced two Embraer 170s and two 190s earlier this year.
