Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co (HAECO) has received its first US Federal Aviation Administration supplemental type certificate for the interiors of two Boeing 767-300ERs that recently entered service with Air Astana.
The STC was obtained on 30 November by HAECO Cabin Solutions, the Hong Kong company’s specialist interiors unit based in San Antonio, which also managed the project.
The two new 767s were delivered green from the USA to HAECO’s Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering facility in Xiamen. The aircraft were outfitted in a two-class seating configuration and installed with audio and video on demand in-flight entertainment at the facility.
A third 767 will undergo the same process in early 2014 before entering service with Air Astana.
