Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines has agreed to buy a new 737-800 aircraft from Air Berlin, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
The aircraft (MSN 39383) was delivered new to Air Berlin earlier in September. It is expected to be transferred to Hainan Airlines later this month.
The Chinese carrier will also lease two 2012-vintage aircraft currently operated by Air Berlin from GECAS, Ascend shows. The aircraft (MSNs 37768, 37769) are scheduled for delivery to the Chinese carrier in November.
All aircraft are equipped with CFM International CFM56-7B24E engines.
