Hainan Airlines passenger traffic up 23% in September

China’s Hainan Airlines passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose 23% in September, compared with the same period last year.

The carrier’s capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose 19%, while its passenger load factor increased by 2.45 percentage points to 86.86%.

Its freight traffic rose by 19% as capacity went up by 21%. Although total freight carried increased 6.2% to 31,000t, the freight weight load factor declined by 1.04 percentage points to 83.85%.

The figures include data from Hainan Airlines, China Xinhua Airlines, Chang'an Airlines and Shanxi Airlines.
