Hainan Airlines will switch its Gulf hub from Dubai to Abu Dhabi on 3 December.

The Chinese airline flies twice weekly from Beijing to Luanda in Angola with a stopover in Dubai, but it will stop over in Abu Dhabi starting next month.

It will use Boeing 767-300ER on the route, says the carrier.

Innovata Schedules show that Hainan Airlines will be the only carrier offering services on the Abu Dhabi-Luanda route. It will compete with Etihad Airways on the Beijing-Abu Dhabi route.

Hainan codeshares on Etihad's services from Abu Dhabi to Khartoum, Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.
