Hawaiian Airlines has appointed Hing-Cheong Kwok to its new country director China position.

Kwok will be responsible for growing and developing the Honolulu-based carrier’s business in China, where it begins service with a nonstop flight to Beijing on 16 April.

“We are pleased to have HC [Kwok] join our international sales team as we enter into the China market for the first time," says Peter Ingram, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer of Hawaiian, in a statement. "His extensive sales experience in the airline industry and his knowledge of the Chinese market are well suited to help us build rapport in our new destination gateway."

Kwok previously worked for Continental Airlines where he was involved in sales and marketing in the Pacific region for 17 years.
