A revamped Terminal 2 for Star Alliance carriers is to open at London Heathrow a year from today.
"We will exactly be 365 days away from the opening tomorrow [4 June]," Star Alliance chief executive Mark Schwab said yesterday, on the sidelines of the IATA annual general meeting in Cape Town.
The terminal will house 23 of the alliance's carriers, Schwab says.
The old Terminal 2 closed in 2009 after operating for more than 50 years. The airport has said that the new terminal will be able to handle more than 20 million passengers a year.
