Heico's flight support group has acquired 80.1% of assets and some liabilities of FAA repair station Action Research in South Carolina.
Heico says it expects the transaction to be accretive to its earnings a year after the acquisition closes. Employee turnover as a result of the acquisition is not expected.
Action Research specialises in developing repairs that extend the life of engines with accessory repair for engines, airframes and landing gear components. It also designs new valve products and has reverse engineering capabilities.
Heico's Hollywood, Florida-based flight support group provides several types of components, structures, engines and interiors. Lufthansa Technik owns 20% of the business.
The remainder of the Action Research will be owned by its founder, Greg Braselton, who will continue to lead the company.
