Switzerland's Helvetic Airways is to open services to the UK city of Cardiff from Zurich early next year.

Helvetic is to operate the flights four times per week from March 2011, using Fokker 100 aircraft.

Cardiff Airport managing director Patrick Duffy says: "Research conducted by the airport demonstrated that Zurich is one of the most sought after business destinations from Wales."
